Hello Crafty Friends! I hope you and your family are well. If you are in the Southeastern part of the US and dealing with the devastation of hurricane Ian, please know that I am sending long-distance hugs and prayers. I have many friends living there, and recovery is financially, mentally, and physically exhausting.

I feel silly continuing to craft and work in my craft room, but I’m working behind the scenes to do what I can to help. Also, it’s my way of working through stress, and hopefully can share a little happiness with all of you.

My obsession with the non-traditional lavender and silver color combination continues with this lovely Spellbinders’ Paper Arts Folk Song card. It features the new etched dies in this pretty little bird that reminds of a partridge for the holidays.

I began by die cutting the bird in several shades of purple, and then carefully in-laid the different colors to piece the bird together. One tip I have for creating this effect is to use the negative die cut, trace the cutout, and then fussy cut a background piece a little smaller than your traced lines. Then adhere your colored cardstock and inlaid pieces to the backing piece.

I embossed the white background using the October Embossing Folder of the Month to add dimension and interest without detracting from the focal image. Finally, I heat embossed the sentiment and die cut from the October Stamps and Dies of the Month Club, and added silver embellishments before adhering it all to a layered purple base.

Thank you so much stopping by the blog today. I hope this lovely lavender partridge helps to brighten your day. Love and crafty hugs!
