Shiseido and Japan Creative Centre (JCC) are co-organising the Lavender Ring Makeup Photos With Smiles initiative in Singapore with local NGO partner, Singapore Cancer Society (SCS). This year, Shiseido has widened the effort to include China, Taiwan, and Singapore in addition to Japan in honour of the 150th anniversary of the company’s establishment this year. The venue for the event in Singapore will be JCC.
“We are delighted to launch the Lavender Ring Makeup Photos With Smiles project in Singapore this year in collaboration with Japan Creative Centre and Singapore Cancer Society. In line with our global mission, Shiseido is committed to empowering individuals to be the best versions of themselves through the power of beauty,” Managing Director of Shiseido Singapore Jessica Fun said.
“As we commemorate our 150th anniversary milestone this year, we are proud to support this project in upholding Shiseido’s values of fostering social inclusion and gender equality initiatives,” Jessica added.
The initiative supports cancer survivors in continuing to live their lives with dignity and a smile by bringing cancer survivors together to share their stories with a like-minded group. The campaign also aims to provide this community a voice so they can spread awareness about their condition and boost their self-esteem.
Around 30 of SCS recipients will be invited to participate in exclusive makeup and hairstyling sessions led by licensed Shiseido Beauty Consultants. The Perfect Cover line from Shiseido Life Quality Makeup will be used during the makeup sessions. This line was created especially to address changes in appearance brought on by cancer treatments, even skin tone, smooth skin surfaces, and highlight the beneficiaries’ features to help them feel their best.
Each beneficiary will be invited to take part in a photo session with their loved ones, after which they will be given a printed photo poster from the session. Beneficiaries are also asked to write a heartfelt letter about their passions and life priorities during the event. The public may view the pictures and words that were collected at the end of the event at the JCC until Thursday, October 13, 2022.
Purple is chosen to represent all types of cancer, while the Lavender Ring motif is a symbol of the networks of cancer survivors coming together as a support community.
