Burgers are a universal delight and everybody should enjoy them even if you don’t eat meat. When it comes to good vegan and vegetarian burger options, there are more than you realise. Our black bean veggie burger recipe is quick to put together and will add more options to your plant-based diet. Black beans are used a lot for vegan burger patties as they have the texture and flavour you want and an alternative is often mushrooms.
Veggie burger suggestions
You want a good burger texture and you can use a fork or the pulse on a food processor to combine the ingredients but don’t turn it into a puree. Have some bigger bean pieces left to help with texture. You can still cook these burgers on the braai, but they are best prepared on a grill or pan as they can fall apart. The patties are full of healthy ingredients and flavours which makes every bite just as great as the last.
